Fun Fishing Tour in Trincomalee

About the Fun Fishing Tour in Trincomalee

Our Fun Fishing Tour in Trincomalee offers an exciting experience that follows the “eat what you catch” philosophy, combining a fantastic fishing trip with a delicious culinary experience. It’s perfect for amateurs, beginners, and families. Plus, the catch is guaranteed!

Sail the beautiful Indian Ocean with our expert boatman aboard a comfortable, safe, and brand-new boat. It comes equipped with four fish rod holders, ready for your adventure.

Best Time for Your Trincomalee Fishing Tour

We schedule our tour for 5:00 AM. Why? Because the ocean is usually calmer in the morning, letting you fully enjoy the fresh breeze. Although you can fish almost everywhere in Trincomalee, we prefer the secluded waters near Nilaveli for our tours.

Less touristy and crowded than other spots, Nilaveli boasts a beautiful exotic beach you might want to visit. Nilaveli sits north of Trincomalee, directly facing Pigeon Island. We will pick you up at your hotel and drive you conveniently by tuk-tuk to the departure point.

What Can You Catch? Typical Trincomalee Fish

Expect to catch a variety of typical Trincomalee fish! Common catches include Snappers, Trevallies, Crevalle Jacks, Mullets, Groupers, Mackerels, and Sardinellas.

Our expert guides use a combination of local knowledge and seasonality to lead you to areas where you are most likely to find your preferred catch. Therefore, even beginners can feel confident catching some fish during this tour.

From Ocean to Table: Enjoy Your Catch

Once you’ve reeled in your catch, Chef Priyantha is ready to prepare it for you right in our restaurant. Alternatively, you can choose to take your fresh fish away with you.

Plan Your Tour: Details and Booking

Sometimes, lucky tour-goers also encounter pods of Spinner Dolphins. These are the most common cetacean species in Trincomalee waters.

Please note, a minimum of two customers is required to confirm the trip. Consequently, if you are a solo traveler and the first to book, we will put your booking on hold. We will confirm it via email as soon as the next customer makes the same reservation. In the rare case the minimum number of participants isn’t reached, we will promptly contact you and offer alternative options.

A complimentary breakfast is served at the end of your fishing tour. Therefore, if you plan to visit Pigeon Island on the same day, we recommend booking the 10:00 AM tour slot. This allows you ample time to enjoy your breakfast and relax before your next trip.
