A Culinary Journey through North-Eastern Sri Lanka: Where Tradition Meets Haute Cuisine

This is the kind of place that Anthony Bourdain would have featured in a show. It encapsulates perfectly what makes the North-Eastern Sri Lankan food culture interesting and unique. The set menu is truly regal and showcases the ocean’s generosity – prawns, calamari, crabs and grilled trevally are plentiful and delicious. The seasonings are consistently right (that random slice of cucumber or tomato on the side? Perfectly seasoned too). Last amazing feature: the place has a lovely traditional feel, but you’re greeted with all the attentions one can expect in a haute cuisine , high end restaurant. This is an experience I will remember. (PS: je suis français je dis pas ça à la légère !)
